The DfES commissioned FPM Training, in partnership with the National Youth Agency, Connexions, APYCO and NCVYS, to design and deliver the pioneering Transforming Youth Work Management (TYWM) programme in 2001. Over three years, this programme was delivered to 575 Heads of Service and Senior Managers in Youth Services, Voluntary Youth Organisations and Connexions.
It was vital in successfully implementing the Transforming Youth Work policy and won a National Training Award. An independent evaluation by De Montfort University highlighted the long-term impact of the programme.
Following the success of TYWM, the DfES commissioned us to design and deliver a unique development programme for the voluntary youth work sector. Lead Up was delivered to 150 managers, in partnership with the NYA and NCVYS, in 2005.
